BIG IDEAS, BOLD AMBITIONS AND DARING DREAMS FOR IRVING'S FUTURE
PROTECT THE INNOCENCE OF OUR CHILDREN
Pornography and sexually explicit books in the kids section of the city library need to be removed immediately. To access any adult content kids should be supervised by a parent. We must protect the innocence of our children.
BUILD SINGLE-FAMILY HOMES
Irving has an over-abundance of low-income apartment units, which often become hotspots of drugs and crime. I will work to preserve the historic residential character of South Irving by facilitating the building of single-family homes and ensuring that all development remains aligned with the needs of the citizens of Irving.
Large corporations have been buying up and renting out single-family homes, hurting the ability of the people of Irving to afford their own homes, as they are being priced out of the market. We need to impose penalties on out-of-state landlords to protect our citizens.
FIGHT AGAINST THE UNNECESSARY $200 MILLION NEW CITY HALL
The old one works well and will be remodeled soon. Why waste $200 million on a new City Hall that would lead to a significant tax increase? Let's fix our roads first.
It is also worth noting that our current City Hall has already been budgeted $25 million for renovations and updates.
HIGH PAYING JOBS AND DEVELOPMENT FOR SOUTH IRVING
South Irving is a nice place to live, but North Irving is richer and more developed. We can incentivize businesses and developers to invest in South Irving by implementing similar tax advantages to the ones Las Colinas has.
STOP CRIME, RESTORE SAFETY, AND ADDRESS THE GROWING HOMELESSNESS CRISIS
There is no higher priority than quickly restoring law and order and public safety in Irving. Thefts and burglaries have spiked to the highest levels in over a decade and our streets are plagued with mentally ill and drug-addicted homeless that will only be helped by professional assistance. We will revitalize police departments and deliver record funding to hire and retrain police officers and first responders.
ABOUT LUIS CANOSA
Luis Canosa is an elite professional violinist who entered college at the age of 15 and remained at the top of his class all throughout while studying with the best masters of his craft (Viktor Tretyakov, Yuri Volguin).
In addition to that, he runs a successful piano restoration and refurbishing business.
Luis has hosted over 30 free CHARITY CONCERTS in South Irving for families that would otherwise not have been able to attend a ticketed event.
